About Your Facilitator

Sandy is the founder of Luludew, a sustainable diaper service that has helped thousands of families navigate diapering with confidence for more than 15 years. What began as a personal search for a healthier, more sustainable diapering option for her own children grew into a mission to educate and support families through one of the most overlooked aspects of early parenthood. A former elementary school teacher and mother of two, Sandy has spent years researching diapering history, environmental impact, baby health, and the realities families face when making diapering decisions. Through Luludew, she has helped divert millions of disposable diapers from landfills while providing practical, judgment-free support to families throughout Los Angeles. Today, Sandy combines her experience as an educator, entrepreneur, and mother to help birth workers confidently guide families through diapering choices with balanced information, real-world solutions, and compassionate support.

The information in this course was eye-opening. I teach newborn care classes and realized how little time we actually spend discussing diapering, despite it being such a huge part of daily life with a baby. The course gave me practical knowledge, historical context, and tools I can immediately bring into my classes."

Newborn Care Instructor

What I appreciated most was the balanced approach. There was no pressure to push one diapering method over another. Instead, I learned how to help families understand their options and make decisions that fit their values and lifestyle. The content was thoughtful, research-based, and incredibly practical.
